Just because you're not face-to-face with a customer doesn't mean that this customer service role is going to be easy! You'll be expected to take charge of an online chatroom or perhaps even the phone lines, in order to keep the customers happy.

If you have strong communication skills and enjoy working with people then the customer services assistant may be an ideal role. Operating online you will be accountable for delivering customer support to a virtual customer base. You will be accountable for responding to customer queries online, via email or over the telephone. Additionally you will be first point of contact so you will need to develop a good understanding of the casino and available games.

Typical duties for an online casino customer service assistant include;

Answering general customer queries and assigning them to another department such as technical support
Providing instructions to customers
Offering comprehensive advice and guidance
Arranging credit for customers and processing payments
Updating computer systems
Supporting the business with administrative duties
The customer service role is quite diverse and no two days are the same. Subsequently you have to be able to think on your feet, prioritise tasks and work under pressure.

In addition the following skills are often required;

Strong customer service and people skills with experience in a customer facing environment
A good general standard of education
Knowledge of the casino industry is a definite advantage
An NVQ in customer service
In your role as Customer Service Assistant you will have the opportunity to work with a whole range of people in the business. This can include anyone from finance teams through to technical support and senior management. The ability to work with different people and build positive working relationships is a must. In addition to customer service you may also be accountable for sales and marketing, promoting products to customers and raising awareness of other games. Strong administrative skills and computer literacy are also required. These skills will be used to manage customer data. It may also be expected that you maintain casino databases.
